Harm Coordes devotes himself to everyday practices, objects and processes. Where do we find processes or objects that defy our appreciation because of their everydayness? What implicit wisdom is hidden in these practices? What are the performative or artistic potentials of the tools and devices that contribute to the performance of these activities?
Harm Coordes’ research-based practice explores how these actions can be abstracted and exhibited in interactive environments to create experiences of “en-living.” In “en-living” the emotional and rational aspects of experience combine. The research aims to formulate an artistic vocabulary that collects situations to perceive and appreciate the everyday. The public presentation of the observations collected during the residency at the Crystal Room is followed by joint expeditions into the everyday and the ordinary.
