Harm Coordes
Interweaving with nature
(Expedition II)

16.05, 5pm

The expedition leads to fashion designer and textile artist Luisa Recker and her project No more than. She will give an insight into her attempt to get as close to nature as possible – and to bring it directly onto our skin and into us. Together we invite you to a collaborative performative, olfactory and sensorimotor exploration of the cultivated and at the same time non-cultivated sphere of an allotment garden in the Vahr and share ideas about do-it-yourself, collective making and the desire to create non-institutional spaces for exchange, mutual learning and interweaving with nature.

Luisa Recker is a fashion designer with specialization in weaving and performance. Her work revolves around the human relationship and connection to nature. Clothing and food play a major role here: Two intimate fields of contact for us with our environment. Our survival necessity of clothing and food results in an exciting relationship that provides examples for looking at our material culture.
Since over two years she is working as an artistic director pedagogically/socially with immigrant women in a textile studio in Bremen Blumenthal called „Neue Wolle“. Since spring 2022 she works as a co-teacher in BA Fashion Design courses at HAW Hamburg.
