In a small group of people the workshop „Prophetic Complaints“ engages in techniques of listening and performing, switching roles between complainer, listener and observer to open up the prophetic potential and imagination of complaints.
Dudu Quintanilha explores ideas on how to live together and what it means to perform oneself in specific situations and contexts. “PROPHETIC COMPLAINTS” is the title he gave to his current interest in speech acts of complaining. Which reactions do these speech acts evoke in different constellations of public space; in the body and in group formation? How do they shape feelings of belonging and longing?
Dudu Quintanilha sets out to collect stories of complaint and institutional life, which is how one is embedded within e.g. work, university and other structures that organize our society. The workshop will consist of listening practices, the reading of already collected complaints and the collecting and development of new complaint biographies.
During the workshop Dudu Quintanilha would like to audio and video record for research purposes. This will of course only take place upon mutual agreement and is not mandatory for participating.
