Shannon Bool and the Berlin artist Alex Müller work together artistically time and again. In the current GAK exhibition “The Inverted Harem I” by Shannon Bool, for example, the Bar Faseliese is integrated, which the two have developed together.
In 2007 Bool and Müller also founded the temporary exhibition space SAMSA presents. A space by artists for artists, a classic non-commercial and self-organized space in Kollwitzstraße in Berlin. Here they and invited guest curators have realized over 45 solo and group exhibitions until the end of 2010. The premises in Prenzlauerberg had to be abandoned by Bool and Müller due to lack of time, but SAMSA will continue to be presented at irregular intervals and in project-based exhibition contexts, but no longer in Berlin.
Over sparkling wine, fruit and seltzer, Shannon Bool and Alex Müller will present various projects of their artistic collaboration, talk about the weal and woe of such an approach, explain their dislike of 90° angles, provide insights into three years of SAMSA presents, and ask themselves why an artist’s own work should provide a framework for presenting the work of others.
